Our

scientific equipment

Our monitoring equipment helps us collect data on wildlife and the interactions between nature and outdoor activities. These tools support both sport-based citizen science initiatives and scientific research carried out through our conservation program and scientific residencies.

Camera Traps

Camera traps are motion-activated cameras used to monitor wildlife without disturbing animals or their habitat.

They help us:

  • Document the presence and distribution of species.

  • Monitor seasonal wildlife activity.

  • Better understand ecosystem dynamics.

  • Study the interactions between wildlife and outdoor recreation.

  • Support conservation planning and scientific research.

Camera traps are positioned and configured to focus on wildlife monitoring. Any recording of people is incidental and not the purpose of the project.

Acoustic Recorders

Acoustic recorders are autonomous devices that continuously capture sounds from the environment.

These recordings help us monitor:

  • Birds and nocturnal species.

  • Amphibians and insects.

  • Biodiversity trends over time.

  • Seasonal changes in ecosystem activity.

  • The mountain soundscape and environmental health.

Acoustic monitoring provides valuable information while minimizing disturbance to wildlife and sensitive habitats.

Privacy and Data Protection

Our monitoring equipment is deployed exclusively for scientific research, biodiversity monitoring, and conservation purposes.

Occasionally, camera traps may capture images of people using trails or public areas. Such recordings are incidental and are not the purpose of the monitoring activities.

Personal data are processed in accordance with applicable data protection regulations, including the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Information collected through monitoring activities is accessed only by authorized project personnel and is retained only for the period necessary to achieve the project's scientific and conservation objectives.
