About the event
Chamois Living Lab is an immersive, week-long course that combines outdoor sports and field research to explore and understand Alpine ecosystems through hands-on learning in the mountains.
Designed for university students from around the world, the program offers a unique opportunity to study and monitor fragile Alpine environments alongside researchers. If at least one non Italian speaker will be present, the course will be entirely held in English.
Participants will engage in key topics related to Alpine fauna, with a particular focus on mammals and birds. The program will be led in collaboration with Dr. Lorenzo Lazzeri (University of Siena) and Dr. Riccardo Alba (University of Torino). Students will gain practical experience using tools such as camera traps and bioacoustic microphones, along with data collection and analysis techniques.
All activities take place while trekking, reflecting the unique nature of Chamois—a car-free village—and embracing the core principles of Consermotion: conservation through movement…
