Workshop "Alps and Human Communities: A Story of Coevolution"

This event is free for the entire Chamois community! No experience necessary.

Two days to explore the relationship between alpine communities and the landscapes they have shaped, inhabited, and cared for over generations. The workshop “Alps and Human Communities: A Story of Coevolution” looks at the past, present, and future of a shared landscape, bringing together scientific perspectives, local knowledge, and hands-on action.

Throughout the workshop, participants will discover how alpine landscapes are not simply natural environments, but the result of a long interaction between ecological processes and human activities. From pastures and hay meadows to irrigation channels and traditional land management, generations of mountain communities have shaped ecosystems while depending on them for their livelihoods.
